OpenSEO
Open-source Semrush/Ahrefs-style SEO suite you control — keyword research, ranks, backlinks, audits, AI visibility — with MCP and agent skills baked in.
Why it matters
OpenSEO is an MIT-licensed SEO product from every-app aimed at people who find Semrush and Ahrefs too expensive or heavy. You get keyword research, rank tracking, competitor insights, backlinks, site audits, and AI visibility in a focused UI. Data comes from your own DataForSEO key when self-hosting (pay only for what you pull); hosted is free to try with a cheap monthly option. The agent angle is first-class: an MCP server plus reusable SEO skills so coding agents can run workflows against live SEO data instead of pasting CSVs.
Founders still rent bloated SEO suites or bounce between half-finished scripts. OpenSEO puts the core workflows in one app you can self-host or pay-as-you-go, then hands the same data to Claude Code, Hermes, and friends over MCP so research stops living only in a browser tab.
How it works
Try the hosted app at openseo.so, or self-host with Docker for local use or Cloudflare for a team-facing deploy. Add a DataForSEO API key for real SERP and link data. Wire MCP from the docs so your agent can call SEO tools; install the packaged agent skills for guided keyword, audit, and visibility jobs. Fork the repo if you want a custom internal SEO console.
Not another keyword spreadsheet or one-off MCP dump. It is a full SEO product with a modern UI plus agent-native MCP and skills, BYO data API, and a path to fork or self-host so the stack stays yours.
